Impact assessment of ARC-funded research

ACIL Allen was engaged to assess the impact of the Australian Research Council’s $13.7 billion, 20-year investment in research through the National Competitive Grants Program (2002-21).
ARC-funded research has delivered significant and diverse economic, social, environmental, cultural and research capacity impacts. These benefit a broad range of end-users and beneficiaries in Australia and internationally, and will continue into the future.
The assessment found that the Program generates $3.32 for every $1 invested. This is expected to boost Australia’s economic output (GDP) by $184.3 billion and create around 6,570 FTE jobs per year across Australia.
