ACIL Allen was engaged by CuString Pty Ltd to undertake an economic impact analysis for the CopperString 2.0 transmission development project. CopperString 2.0 will connect the North West Power System (NWPS) to Powerlink’s transmission network allowing participation in the National Electricity Market (NEM). The NWPS, the main electricity distribution network for the North West Minerals Province (NWMP) of Queensland, is a remote islanded network currently supplied from gas fired generation at Mount Isa, that does not participate in the NEM. The report was provided as an input to the Environmental Impact Statement process.
