Economic Impacts of Defence Infrastructure in the Northern Territory: 2022-23 to 2026-27

ACIL Allen was engaged by Master Builders NT to assess the capability and capacity of the Northern Territory construction industry to undertake work on major capital projects associated with the Defence Infrastructure Program. 

The report highlighted the significant economic benefits that can be realised in the Northern Territory from the construction of the program of defence infrastructure, with a cumulative impact of $4.5 billion over the next five years. At peak construction in 2024-25, ACIL Allen estimates that this activity could boost the NT’s Gross Product by almost 5%, and generate an additional 7,640 full-time equivalent jobs.
