Economic contribution of the Western Rock Lobster industry: 2020 - 2021 Assessment

ACIL Allen was engaged by the peak industry body for the western rock lobster fishery to conduct an economic contribution study of this iconic Western Australian industry during 2020-21. This report provides an update on the economic performance of the industry in light of the significant disruption caused by COVID-19 and the restrictions imposed on the export of western rock lobsters to its key export market. Despite this, the industry remains a key regional employer providing jobs in the fishing, processing, transport, boat building, and tourism industries.
