Agricultural levies system review: Scoping study

This project for the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources in 2016 considered the legislative and regulatory framework underpinning Australia’s system of agricultural levies. This included the policy rationale and administrative processes underpinning the levy establishment and collection. The project involved workshops with key industry stakeholders and a detailed review of current legislation. The outcomes of the project centred on terms of reference for a review of the levy system and the development of possible options to enhance the effectiveness of levies.
