Satchi Kalra

Consultant

Satchi is a Consultant in ACIL Allen's Canberra office, where she specialises in economics. She has worked on projects involving cost-benefit analysis, distributional analysis, impact pathway development, economicevaluation,and choice modelling. Her work spans agriculture and research, health economics, infrastructure and transport, internal migration, regulation and policy analysis, and the energy sector across both public and private clients.

About Satchi

Satchi's expertise focuses on applied economic analysis with a focus on quantitative methodologies that inform policy and investment decisions. She brings rigorous analytical capabilities and understanding of how economic frameworks can generate actionable insights for complex challenges.

 Satchi's recent work includes:

 — conducting agriculture and Research, Development, and Extension (RD&E) impact assessments to evaluate economic returns from research investments

— reviewing demand forecast modelling for a major proposed infrastructure project, assessing model robustness and forecasting approaches

— developing the cost benefit analysis component of an evaluation of a youth-focused program, assessing outcomes for participants and cost-effectiveness to inform future funding and program improvement decisions

— preparing Regulation Impact Statements (RIS) that analyse policy options and quantify costs and benefits across stakeholder groups

— developing gas demand and customer number forecasts for gas distributor network planning and access arrangement submissions

 Prior to joining ACIL Allen, Satchi has developed her experience as an economist working in the private sector, giving her a robust understanding of client needs across the enterprise spectrum. Satchi holds a Master's in Applied Economics from the Australian National University.
