Peter Johnson

Senior Associate

Dr Peter Johnson specialises in economic modelling and economic impact analysis using input-output and computable general equilibrium (CGE) modelling techniques. These methods can be applied at the regional, state and national level; Peter’s work has a strong focus on regional and state level analysis.

About Peter

Peter has developed numerous input-output tables for all Australian states and territories and for many of their regions. Peter has, on several occasions, developed input-output tables for the Northern Territory and its subregions on behalf of Northern Territory government departments.

Peter has also worked with and developed CGE models for Australian states and their regions. Peter has also contributed to CGE model design. Peter has significantly enhanced a CGE model of the world economy, Tasman Global, with new equations for labour market disaggregation (by labour type and source of supply). In addition, Peter adjusted the model’s national income accounting to reflect the impact of repatriated labour income and company profits.

Peter has undertaken numerous economic impact assessments at the regional, state and national level of major projects using input-output and CGE modelling techniques
